CRM 4.0 Update Rollup 3 is now available via the download center.

 Update Rollup 3 is the first UR post-transition to the new rollup servicing model.  A very significant advantage of this model is the release predictability as we ship an update rollup every 8 weeks.  The next rollup will release on May 7th.  All the major product groups have moved to this rollup servicing model and many more are transitioning now as it’s been a win for Microsoft and our customers.   

Yesterday I went to Bojug (Bangalore Java User group) and then MSQL Bangalore Meetup usergroup meeting..

 

In BOjug my friend Ajay kemparaj gave a wonderful session on Model Driven Architecture using Eclipse (ECORE).

 

Then in MySQL meetup (in Sun Microsystems) Amit Saha gave a mind blowing session on MYSQL Solaris DTrace session .

From the last 3 months I attended 3 different seminars of IBM

Those companies are acquired by IBM recently.

 

First is COGNOS reporting tool

Second is LOTUS on colloboration tools

Third is Telelogic on Enterprise Life Cycle Management tools (ELM) like Rhapsody

FAST search was acquired by Microsoft last year.

 

In 2009 all Microsoft Dynamics suite , Sharepoint 2009, Biztalk are coming.

 

Lets see how Microsoft includes FAST search there..

Last Saturday

 

I went to Bloggers meet to learn about wordpress plugins

Then after that I went to Bangalore FUnctional Programming Group in Thoughtworks.

Then in the night I went to Tirupati by APTDC . Nice journey and AP tourism arranged nicely.

Everything went fine and I gave my hair to Balaji and donated 10k to God.

Felt happy and returned on Sunday at 4 pm Bangalore

Last week I attended Microsoft Community Tech Days.

Nice sessions.

Started  with Arun ' session on SqlServer 2008.

It was good session.

Expected more from Chaitra session on Silverlight . But its ok.

Later the highlight session of the overall day was given by Vic.

It was Windows 7 . Really created lot of enthusiasm and interest on Windows 7.

" Shake " feature was very much interesting.

Vic has given a very nice presentation.

Afternoon session: By Manoj on WCF best practices was good.

Then security insight sessions was not upto the mark.

He has not given enough time also.

Thanks to the speakers and the organisers.

Thanks to Microsoft for their commitment towards user communities.

I am expecting some good sessions on Sharepoint , Microsoft Dynamics, Sqlserver Business Intelligence.

I want to write the future roadmap of Bdotnet sessions.

I am Sreedhar Ambati one of the Bdotnet member from almost 2 yrs.

I always used to give feedbacks for the sessions  and always want to create a healthy environment surrounding me.

After seeing the speakers and their commitment I want to contribute to communities.

I tried 4 times for publishing articles.

Now I am successful in my 5^th attempt.

My article on “Microsoft Great Plains integration capabilities using Dexterity and Visual Studio” was  published in  csharpcorner site.

I am working for Protean Software Solutions Pvt Ltd. We are working on MS CRM space.

 During my internal training I got an opportunity to see Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.

Thanks to Sreejith one of the best PMs of Proteans.

After attending the training I understood the importance of Great Plains and I don’t want to waste the effort of the speaker.

I replicated the training examples and gave a step by step introduction to Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains integration capabilities from a developer angle. I spent lot of time for preparing this to make it a good article.

In Dynamics space there is a very big void space and its difficult to find articles from a developer angle. Everybody explains the theoretical part. So I chose practical part of it. I tried to frame in such a way that one can start writing coding in GreatPlains after following the steps mentioned in the article.

I always use to collect lot of information and it is very hard to get information from people who are working on Products because of the existing competitive environment.

Really Microsoft Dynamics product suite is cool and good. But there is no systematic help even from Microsoft too.

I want you people to visit the below link and give your valuable feedback. Based on the response I want to focus on my future steps and articles.

My first program (which went to live project )in Sharepoint team  is

 

Installing features Custom pages in central administration and navigation using custom breadcrumbs..

 

10th I wrote Microsoft Sqlserver 70-431 certification but failed..

 

I want to see my articles in codeproject ( in 2007 I tried 4 times .. All failed).

 

Now I tried once more c-sharp corner for a GP project .. Will see whats the result.

 

Now planning for Sharepoint article on Features..

My belief came true.

 

If we are true in our words and if we are showing them in efforts too people will believe us slowly.

For a client we worked on Business Portal 3.0 (which integrates with GP 9.0) customizations and has asked us to do the same customizations in Business Portal 4.0 (which integrates with GP 10.0). Business Portal 3.0 has an SDK for doing the customizations but Business Portal 4.0 don’t have an SDK to do the customizations. So, Microsoft has suggested that we can upgrade the existing customizations from old version to the new version and we have followed the same.

 

Customizations in Business Portal 3.0 were done using Rational XDE modeling by pointing to GP 9.0 database for creating custom MBF (Microsoft Business Framework) entities. So while upgrading we have used the same model by pointing to GP 10 database to check whether the model was compatible with GP 10 or not and upgraded the customizations to new version.

This first phase of customizations were done and sent to client also.

 

Now we moved to the second phase of the project .

Client is asking for new customizations now in Business Portal 4.0 and we are planning to model using Rational XDE and Business Portal 3.0 SDK by pointing to GP 10.0 database and upgrade to Business Portal 4.0. We are not sure whether we can follow this process or not because there is no document from Microsoft for new customizations in Business Portal 4.0 and whether this is the recommended way or not. I believe Microsoft is no longer supporting Rational XDE.

 

If you know the solution please help me or if you know anyone who worked on this please give the details.
